The Little House Family
'We must help the child to act for himself, will for himself, think for himself.' — Maria Montessori.
This is at the heart of everything we do at Tilden Little House. Together with parents, we create a village where every child is seen and supported, fostering confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Grace
Grace started with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and worked as a designer and event producer in New York City before becoming a mom of three. She soon discovered Montessori as a parent and resonated immediately. That journey eventually led her to earn her AMS credential and co-found this school. Montessori is so much more than an approach to education, it's a way of life that brings joy, respect, and intention into everyday moments. Outside of school, Grace loves hanging out with her three kids, discovering new trails, biking, and getting lost in art projects and crafting.
Kim
Kim has more than thirty years of experience teaching in Montessori schools across the Bay Area. She completed her Montessori certification in 1984 and earned a B.A. in Human Development with a focus on Early Childhood Education.
“Montessori has enabled me to see the pure joy that is expressed by young children as they begin to grasp the concepts and ideas that propel them forward.”
She went on to co-found Tilden Little House, bringing decades of experience and heart to everything she does here.
Gloria
Gloria has been a Montessori teacher for many years and is a beloved part of the Tilden Little House community. She holds AMI certifications in both infant and primary education, and had the rare opportunity to train under Dr. Silvia Duvoboy and Dr. Silvana Montanaro in San Diego. Over the years she has found her greatest joy working with the youngest children. She walks through the door every day genuinely excited to be with them.
Chris
Working with children has always been a joyful part of Chris’ life. From Boy Scouts to summer camps, elementary to preschool, there is nothing better to him than a child’s discovery of new things.
He completed his Montessori certification with East Bay Montessori, and has also earned a B.A. in Elementary Education with a focus on sciences. He loves his cats, cooking, and playing pickleball.
